Description

SICILY. Entella (?). Punic issues, circa 300-289 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 16.85 g, 4 h). Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. 𐤌𐤇𐤑𐤁𐤌 ('mhsbm' in Punic) Head of a horse to left; behind, palm tree with two date clusters; to left, astragalos. Jenkins, Punic, - (O115/R286, unlisted die combination). Minor deposits and with a few tiny scratches, otherwise, good very fine.

From the Hestia Collection, formed over the past five decades, privately acquired before 2005.
