C. Augurinus, 135 BC. Denarius (Silver, 18 mm, 4.00 g, 8 h), Rome. ROMA Head of Roma to right, wearing winged helmet, pendant earring and pearl necklace; behind head, star (mark of value). Rev. C•A-VG Spiral column with grain-ears at each side set on forepart of lion; to left, togate figure standing right, holding uncertain object (loaves?) with both hands and placing his left foot on prow of ship; to right, togate figure standing to left, holding lituus in his right hand.
