★ An extremely rare drachm from Kyrene ★

KYRENAICA. Kyrene. Circa 500-480 BC. Drachm (Silver, 13 mm, 4.39 g), Attic standard. Silphium fruit. Rev. Winged female figure standing facing, head to right and arms hanging at her sides; to left and right, six pellets; all within square dotted frame within incuse square. BMC pl. IV, 6-7. SNG Copenhagen 1166. Extremely rare. Struck from worn dies and with some scratches on the obverse , otherwise, good fine.
