SELEUKID KINGS OF SYRIA. Seleukos I Nikator, 312-281 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 29 mm, 17.06 g, 6 h), in the name and types of Alexander the Great. Babylon I, circa 311-300. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. ΒAΣIΛEΩΣ - AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to left, monogram within wreath; below throne, Η. Price 3704. SC 82.6. Boldly struck and fresh. A few light marks, otherwise, extremely fine.
