★ Nicely toned and of particularly attractive style ★

CELTIC, Middle Danube. Uncertain tribe. 2nd century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 20 mm, 12.27 g, 7 h), 'Dachreiter' type. Imitating Philip II of Macedon. Celticized laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. Celticized horseman to left, holding reins in his right hand and bird on his left. Dembski -. Flesche -. Lanz -. OTA 175/1. A splendid piece, nicely toned and of particularly attractive style. Minor area of weakness on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
