CELTIC, Middle Danube. Uncertain tribe. 2nd century BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 21 mm, 13.76 g, 10 h), 'Dachreiter' type. Imitating Philip II of Macedon. Celticized laureate head of Zeus to right. Rev. Celticized horseman to left, wearing crested helmet; above, four-spoked wheel. Dembski -. Flesche 595. Lanz -. OTA 174/2 var. Preda pl. 36, 9-10. A beautifully toned and perfectly centered example. Very minor porosity, otherwise, about extremely fine.
