SASANIAN KINGS. Peroz I, 457/9-484. Drachm (Silver, 28 mm, 3.18 g, 4 h), DA (Darabjird). MZDYSN BGY KDY PYLWCY ('Worshipper of Lord Mazda, 'God' King Peroz' in Pahlawi) Draped bust of Peroz I to right, wearing mural crown with korymbos set on crescent; in outer margin, two Sogdian countermarks. Rev. Fire altar flanked by two attendants; in upper field to left, five-pointed star; in upper field to right, crescent; in field to right, DA (name of the mint in Pahlawi). SNS III, pl. 87, 122. Very rare with Sogdian countermarks. About very fine.
