SASANIAN KINGS. Peroz I, 457/9-484. Drachm (Silver, 28 mm, 4.00 g, 3 h), BBA (the camp mint). MZDYSN BGY KDY PYLWCY ('Worshipper of Lord Mazda, 'God' King Peroz' in Pahlawi) Draped bust of Peroz I to right, wearing mural crown with frontal crescent and korymbos set on crescent. Rev. Fire altar flanked by two attendants; in upper field to left, five-pointed star; in upper field to right, crescent; in field to left, monogram; in field to right, BBA (name of the mint in Pahlawi). SNS III, pl. 85, 98. A very rare variety. Some die rust, otherwise, good extremely fine.
