KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 32 mm, 16.60 g, 1 h), Odessos, circa 90-80. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. BAΣΙΛΕΩΣ - AΛEΞANΔPOY Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and eagle standing right with closed wings in his right; to inner left, ΘE; below throne, monogram of ΟΔΗ. Callataÿ Group 1, D12/R32. HGC 3, 1587. Price 1181. Beautifully toned and with a bold head of Herakles. Thin flan crack and with minor doubling on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
