A very early, 1st type Knight’s Cross I Class in GOLD, 44x29 mm, with white enameled arms, finely
chiselled laurel and oak wreath with green translucent enamel; gold centre medallion with polished
ground and the profile head of king Otto in detailed bas-relief; the reverse medallion also in gold
with white enameled cross centered by a small square with the Bavarian colors on blue ground
within an outer circlet with gold inscription; smooth, round upper loop and suspension crown linked
by the typical, inner hook, round ribbon ring and original ribbon with rosette. A beautiful and very rare
piece of the earliest, finest Bavarian manufacture; in red morocco case of issue with gold embossed
lid and fitted inner compartment; Excellent condition. I R!
