Georg Gottlieb Plato was the pseudonym of Georg Gottlieb Wild (1710-1777). Under his more classical name, he is best remembered today for his Regensburgisches Münz-Kabinet, first published in 1779 and reprinted into the 20th century. The present works are highly specialized and demonstrate the state of the science at the time.
