Description

Franz Joseph I gold "Coronation Anniversary" 100 Korona 1907-KB MS66+ NGC Kremnitz mint, KM490, Fr-256, Husz-2213. Mintage: 10,897. A supremely popular type that was struck upon the 40th anniversary of the King's coronation in Hungary, showing a pleasing combination of matte-like centers framed by a lustrous ring at the edges. It is impossible not to immediately sense in hand that this selection stands near the peak of quality for the type, displaying simply no handling of importance and only the smallest signs of contact to establish the exceptionally impressive assigned grade. In fact, of over 100 examples seen by NGC not a single one has certified finer, a true testament to the quality of the present selection. We note that NGC no longer differentiates between Proof and Mint State examples for this issue.
