Jeremias Roth Senior gold Restrike 30 Ducats 1738-Dated (19th Century) UNC Details (Mount Removed, Reverse Graffiti) NGC, Kremnitz mint, cf. Fr-573 (original issue), Husz-9. 102.91gm. Signed "R". Obv. St. George mounted and holding sword, slaying dragon below, flanked by images of the virgin and child (left) and standing figure of Charles VI (right), crowned and holding scepter. Rev. Christ and apostles, weathering storm. An absolutely inspiring representative of medallic gold coinage, originally designed by Jeremias Roth Senior (1690-1751). This example, a restrike of 19th century origin, is rendered to remarkable precision and quality, the engaging and dramatic motifs displayed to grand proportions, the surfaces lustrous and, with the exception of a small "W" etched below "In Tempestate", demonstrating sound preservation throughout. Very scarce, and an unlikely opportunity in this fine quality.
