Description

Vittorio Emanuele III gold Matte Proof 100 Lire 1925-R PR64 NGC, Rome mint, KM66, Fr-32, Pag-645. Commemorating the Silver Jubilee of the king's reign, as well as the 10th anniversary of Italy's entrance into World War I. Obv. Bare head left; below, oak tree growing between Iron Crown of Lombardy. Rev. Nude male athlete sprinting left, holding banner and small statue of Victory; fasces below. Quite visually appealing for the certified grade, with only minor abrasions that appear nearly invisible except under the closest inspection, the attractive micro-granular texturing of the surfaces endowing the selection with its distinctive matte finish.
