SICILY. Syracuse. Second Democracy (ca. 466-405 BC). AR tetradrachm (24mm, 17.35 gm, 12h). NGC MS 4/5 - 5/5. Ca. 450-440 BC. Charioteer driving quadriga walking right, kentron in right hand, reins in both; Nike flying right above to crown horses, ketos right in exergue / ΣYRAKOΣI-ON, head of Arethusa right, wearing triple-band taenia, pendant earring and pearl necklace, hair bound in large loop at base of neck; four dolphins swimming clockwise around.
