An attractive early issue issued by the long standing Chartered Bank for Shanghai, executed with a steel plate design. The Taels denomination must be noted on this example, as most were redeemed for Dollar coins or notes issued in Dollars as they became available. A very elusive early example that remains enjoyable. A repair is noted.
