An attractive early example issued for the trading city of Shanghai, issued in Taels. The steel plate design used on the face remains excellent, with the fine details still enjoyable. An elusive example as issued as large amounts were redeemed for coins or exchanged for Dollar notes in the few years after. Only one series of Tael denomination notes was issued for Shanghai.
