Trengganu. Zainal Abidin III 1/2 Cent AH 1325 (1907) MS64 NGC, KM18, Prid-99. Recast. Obverse script reads "Kerajaan Trengganu Sanat 1325" in Malay (translates to State of Trengganu Year 1907), within a circle of initials S.Z.A (Sultan Zainal Abidin). A stunning near-Gem survivor from this seldom-seen type struck in tin for the local sultan at the Malay Peninsula, very attractive when viewed in hand. According to Pridmore, this tin coinage was authorized by the British Advisor to the State of Trengganu in 1920, and withdrawn in 1921. While the ruling Sultan in 1920 was Sulaiman (1920-1942), this issue was recast from dies prepared for an earlier reign of Zainal Abidin III, altered to suit the circumstances in 1920.
