Magnus Maximus (AD 383-388). AR miliarense (24mm, 4.48 gm, 7h). NGC (photo-certificate) Choice AU 4/5 - 2/5, flan crack. Trier. D N MAG MA-XIMVS PF AVG, pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Magnus Maximus right, seen from front / VIRTVS-EXERCITVS, emperor standing facing, head left, holding labarum and resting hand on shield; TRPS in exergue. RIC IX 82 variety (obverse legend type 2a, not 2b). From the Morris Collection. Ex CNG 54, (14 June 2000), lot 1826.
