Constans, as Caesar (AD 337-350). AV solidus (21mm, 4.53 gm, 5h). NGC AU 4/5 - 4/5. Constantinople, AD 336-337. FL CONSTANS NOB CAES, laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Constans right, seen from front / PRINCIPI-IVVE-NTVTVS (sic), Constans, as prince of the youth, standing facing in military dress, head left, vexillum with medallion on banner in right hand, scepter in left; two signa at right. RIC VII -, cf. 109-113 for Constantine II, Constantius II and Delmatius. Unpublished and with an interesting reverse legend variant that normally reads IVVENTVTIS for this type.
