Description

Philip IV (1621-1665) gold Cob 2 Escudos ND B MS64 NGC, Madrid mint, KM51.2, Fr-206. 6.70gm. Although not formally dated as such by NGC, we believe that the clear "B" assayer mark indicates that this piece was struck in 1645. Unbelievably rare in this near gem quality, and although the flan is slightly irregular, the strike could not get much better. With almost no doubling expressed within the devices, and a bright and pleasing luster.
