Augsburg. Free City Taler 1745-IT MS62 NGC, Augsburg mint, KM157, Dav-1925. An attractive one-year type with a reconceptualized presentation of the classic Augsburg imagery, which eschews the usual escutcheon surrounding the pinecone and instead displays it in the raised hand of a seated city goddess. The surfaces benefit from swatches of subtle color while charcoal appears along the peripherals. While some Augsburg issues appear frequently at auction, this is not one of them.
