Titus, as Caesar (AD 79-81). AE sestertius (31mm, 26.25 gm, 7h). NGC VF 4/5 - 3/5. Rome, AD 72. Judaea Capta commemorative. T CAES VESPASIAN IMP PON TR POT COS II, laureate head of Titus right / IVDAEA-CAPTA, Titus, in military dress, standing right, spear in right hand, parazonium in left, left foot resting on a helmet; palm tree in center, Judaea seated right in attitude of mourning to right, S C in exergue. GBC 6, 6553. GBC 5, 1523. RIC II.1 (Vespasian) 422. Dark toning throughout the recesses adds nice dimensionality to this imposing piece.
