An entrancing specimen beaming with aurous luster whose sheer visual appeal propels it to an elite tier rarely encountered on British gold of this vintage. While characteristic striking weakness is evident from soften within George's portraits, this is largely obscured by the hypnotic lemon-gold radiance. Of the handful for this date in both bust types submitted to the major grading services, the offering at hand is tied for the finest with one other, which we happened to have handled just this past August. A top-tier candidate for the quality-conscious collector of milled British gold.
