Macau Banco Nacional Ultramarino 50 Patacas ND (1905-06) Pick Unl KNB6A Proof PMG Choice Uncirculated 63. The first series of Banco Nacional Ultramarino banknotes for Macau are scarce and extremely popular. They were printed during the Portuguese Monarchy, hence the crown and crest insignia at front. Curiously, this fully printed Proof is similar, but not identical, to the known 50 Patacas c.1905, Pick 5 in the Standard Catalog. This Proof was printed in shades of brown, and it is perforated cancelled. No serial numbers or signatures have been applied. The date is also omitted, but that is customary, as dates were added when issued. Mount remnants are mentioned for accuracy. An extremely rare denomination and design, and one that is missing from even exhaustive collections. Not to be missed.
