Description

Vittorio Emanuele III gold 100 Lire 1905-R MS62 PCGS, Rome mint, KM39, Fr-22, Gig-2, Pag-639 (R). Mintage: 1,012. Highly ranked among examples that have recently come to market, and certainly one of the finest we've handled, period. This low-mintage and conditionally sensitive issue always garners significant collector interest, especially when encountered so fine, yet here noticeably lacking a fully deserved "Prooflike" designation, evidenced by flashy, reflective mirrors displayed within the confines of the fields, propelling the raised devices towards the viewer with ample frosting. Evenly scattered friction is noted throughout amidst razor-sharp details, though does little to impact the beauty of this impressive specimen.
