British India. Edward VII Proof Restrike 1/2 Rupee 1909-B PR63 NGC, Bombay mint, KM507, S&W-7.48. Distinguished by the characteristic appearances generally bestowed upon these restrike issues, with significant glass-like resplendence and a softness of engraved detail likely from being reworked. Despite this, the piece's appearance is certainly visually stimulating, bathed in a deep nacreous patina that all can appreciate.
