The first year of issue for the type, boasting Maximilian II's sensitively rendered portrait framed in exceedingly fresh mint bloom and boisterous saffron silhouettes. A conditional and aesthetic outlier for this series that wouldn't be exceeded technically until the prolific 1855 "Madonna" 2 Gulden. Ex.
