Description

Bavaria. Ludwig I "Maximilian I" 2 Taler 1839 MS66 PCGS, Munich mint, KM805, Dav-583, AKS-100, Thun-77. Commemorating Maximilian I as Elector of Bavaria. As ideal as could reasonably be expected for any of the entries in Ludwig's vast commemorative Taler and Doppeltaler series, its variegated patina overlaying flashy surfaces that render an almost frosty quality to the central devices. Such strengthens the coin's Prooflike affinities, a finish to date recognized for just 2 examples of this emission at PCGS. Singularly attractive in every regard, we feel it is appropriate to deem the offering an ideal type coin. Ex.
