Description

Bavaria. Ludwig I "Johann Paul Friedrich Richter" 2 Taler 1841 MS65 NGC, Munich mint, KM810, Dav-586, AKS-102, Thun-79. Struck in commemoration of the construction of a statue to Johann Paul Friedrich Richter in Bayreuth. A wondrous gem specimen boasting just a hint of Prooflike features, Ludwig's iconic bust rendered in large format against flashy dove-tinged expanses while the reverse radiates in a muted mint bloom. A curious and simply fascinating issue celebrating the German Romantic writer, standing alone atop the certified populations of both NGC and PCGS. Ex. Künker Auction 77 (September 2002, Lot 1602) From the Cape Coral Collection of German Coins, Part I
