Description

Bavaria. Ludwig I "Monument" Taler 1828 MS64 NGC, Munich mint, KM735, Dav-562, AKS-123, Thun-55. Commemorating the completion of the Constitution Monument, erected on the 10th anniversary of the Bavarian Constitution. Not a type encountered with any great regularity in technically finer grades, a fact verified by the presence of a single MS66 certified finer between NGC and PCGS combined. Both sides appear decorated in a plum-champagne tone over glassy surfaces, creating the appearance of a practically gem specimen. Ex. Künker Auction 77 (September 2002, Lot 1551) From the Cape Coral Collection of German Coins, Part I
