Description

Bavaria. Karl Theodor Taler 1791-AS MS66+ NGC, Mannheim mint, KM560.4, Dav-1961, Wittelsbach-2366, Hahn-393 var. (different bust). By all indications a far more challenging bust type for the issue, and an already outstanding grade that begs for in-hand viewing to be fully appreciated. Just lightly haymarked over each side, it is incredibly difficult to find grounds for complaint with the present specimen--die polish lavishly featuring over the raised designs while the fields support icy, unbroken luster. Hardly a coin for which consultation of the certification population is necessary to recognize its unchallenged peak status, and a connoisseur's piece through-and-through. Ex. Künker Auction 100 (June 2005, Lot 669) From the Cape Coral Collection of German Coins, Part I
