Description

Bavaria. Karl Theodor "Vicariat" Taler 1790-CD MS64 NGC, Munich mint, KM593, Dav-1969, Schön-147, Wittelsbach-2389, Hahn-359. A beautifully aged specimen that leaves utterly little to the imagination, weaving peach, merlot, and pewter color across the planchet. While technically exceeded by a single MS65 at NGC--a coin which in fact possesses very similar visual merits to the one here, and with far more prominent flan adjustments on the reverse--we feel that this coin stands within a hair's breadth of gem certification. Ex. Johann Max Böttcher Collection (Harald Möller Auction 47, November 2007, Lot 93) From the Cape Coral Collection of German Coins, Part I
