Description

Augsburg. Free City Taler 1743-IT MS63 NGC, Augsburg mint, KM148, Dav-1922, Schön-41, Wittelsbach-1971, Forster-535. With the name and titles of Karl VII. Currently the only certified example of the date, and the first we have handled, the coin at hand shows an allover radiant finish, die polish placed prominently in the recesses around the Imperial eagle, all while nestled in a charming khaki luster. Pronounced in its reliefs and very nearly possessing the aesthetics of a finer coin, it is likely that just a scattering of surface wisps bound the designation. Ex. Johann Max Böttcher Collection (Harald Möller Auction 47, November 2007, Lot 32) From the Cape Coral Collection of German Coins, Part I
