Description

Kansu. Republic Sun Yat-sen Dollar Year 17 (1928) XF Details (Scratch) PCGS, Lanzhou mint, KM-Y410, L&M-618, Kann-760, Chang-CH187, WS-0720, Wenchao-1034 (rarity 3 stars). Issued under Feng Yu Hsiang. One of a mere two collectible silver Dollar types from Kansu Province, and by far the rarer of the two, with the Sun Yat-sen pieces both occurring with far greater infrequency on the auction market than their Yuan Shih-kai counterparts, as well as generally proving more desirable among collectors. Infrequently available without at least some conditional modifier owing to post-mint damage, this piece, while clearly cleaned in the past and scratched through the Kuomintang arms on the reverse, nonetheless retains a generally firm strike for the issue, making this a still desirable type representative.
