"Peacock" Pe (1/16 Kyat) CS 1214 (1852)-Dated MS66 NGC, KM6.4, Robinson/Shaw-11.7 (Obverse B/Reverse 3). Variety with circle where wreath branches cross, ":" omitted after denomination. Generally a lesser-appreciated denomination within this iconic peacock series as compared to the larger Kyat, nonetheless this specimen should immediately make the viewer stop and pause. Technically considered a more common obverse-reverse pairing by Robinson and Shaw, such a designation falls by the wayside in this condition--no others grade similarly within the certified population, with the next finest at both services ranking as MS64's. To date, the next finest we have offered (Obverse A/Reverse 1a) was an MS63, which brought $3720 last December.
