D N VALENS-P F AVG, pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Valens right, seen from front / VICTORIA AVGVSTORVM, Victory seated right on cuirass, shield behind, supporting on left knee a shield inscribed VOT / X / MVLT XX in four lines; small winged genius standing left before, supporting the shield with both hands; AN in exergue. Includes charming old collector tag in French, translated as "Roman piece found damaged by Mr. Bolzoie, behind the canal on the heights where the strawberry farm was built, it was he who gave it to me on 20 December 1923."
