Republic silver Unofficial Restrike Pattern Peso 1880 MS62 NGC, KM-Pn20, Janson-31. A fascinating issue with uniformly metallic surfaces with light reflectivity witnessed to the recesses of the legends and numerous adjustment marks and tooling throughout. A later striking (cf. Carlos Janson's "Monedas de la Republica Argentina", page 297 states: "no originals known") using the original dies engraved by Oudine for the 1881-1883 "patacon" series.
