Qing Dynasty. Shaanxi Caoding ("Trough") Sycee of 5 Taels ND (c. 19th Century) Certified AU by HuaXia, cf. Cribb-Class XLII.B. 48x35mm. 197gm. Stamped in two sections, the underlying stamp consisting of two columns, reading (right to left): "San Yuan Xian" (Sanyuan County) and "Xin Shun He" (bank name), and the overstruck stamp reading: "Gong Gu Ju" (Official public assayer). A rather scarce example of the type, with Cribb noting that added marks or stamps are not often encountered for the class, though a few examples are recorded from groups A, B, and G.
