Württemberg. Karl I Proof "Ulm Cathedral" 2 Taler 1871 PR64 NGC, Stuttgart mint, KM618, Dav-961, Thun-442. Mintage: 4,031. Struck in celebration of the completion of the Ulm Cathedral. A coin whose darkened gunmetal patination and icy device frosting produces a virtually cameo contrast. Highly covetable at this level, we would note that only 3 examples currently certify finer.
