Nicephorus I and Stauracius (AD 803-811). AV solidus (21mm, 4.49 gm, 5h). NGC Choice MS 5/5 - 4/5. Constantinople, AD 803-811. hICI-FOROS bASILЄ', crowned facing bust of Nicephorus, wearing mustache and short beard, chlamys pinned at right shoulder, cross potent in right hand, akakia in left / StAVRA-CIS dЄSPO' X, crowned facing bust of Stauracius, beardless, chlamys pinned at right shoulder, globus cruciger in right hand, akakia in left. Sear 1604. Strongly struck on fully lustrous flan. Incredibly eye appealing.
