Description

SICILY. Acragas. Ca. 470-420 BC. AR tetradrachm (24mm, 17.07 gm, 3h). NGC Choice AU 4/5 - 2/5, flan flaw. AKPAC-ANTOΣ (the second half retrograde), eagle standing left on Ionian capital, wings closed / Crab, seen from above. SNG ANS 975 (same reverse die). Cf. Westermark 425 (O-/R88). A new obverse die for the series. Bright obverse, satiny reverse. areas of speckled toning.
