Description

Nicholas I platinum 3 Roubles 1833-CПБ MS61 PCGS, St. Petersburg mint, KM-C177, Fr-160, Bit-79 (R), Sev-608, Uzd-0376. Obv. Crowned doubled-headed Imperial eagle. Rev. Date and value in circle. A well-struck and fully uncirculated representative displaying gleaming luster in the fields, joined by a laudable level of detail that takes its highest form in the eagle's feather, shield details, and crown. Only a handful of examples of this early platinum issue have been certified in Mint State condition to date, rendering this prized offering a special one indeed. This is only the second selection of the date that we have sold in this tier of preservation, with the last occurring more than a decade ago in January of 2010.
