Description

British Outpost. George III Proof Ackey 1818 PR64 NGC, Heaton mint, KM9, Dav-36, FT-3A. Laureate head of King George III right. Rev. Arms of the Company of Merchants Trading to Africa with native supporters. A commendable near-gem Proof displaying medallic features that are set within sharp, high-profile rims, the silver color of the fields contrasting with a light almond tone that concentrates in depth against the peripheries. With its brilliant surfaces and only lightest traces of handling, a highly collectible example of the type. NGC has certified only a single example finer than this.
