Lebanon Banque de Syrie et du Liban 5 Livres 1.9.1939 Pick 27b PMG Choice Very Fine 35. Featuring a double slash overprint on both sides, this is the second variety for the 5 Livres. Although dated 1939, banknotes from this series were not issued until 1942. A variety of overprints were created to identify batches of banknotes in case they fell into the wrong hands during World War II. This double slash variety for this issue is particularly scarce with only a total of 15 examples registered in the PMG Population Report and only three examples in higher grade.
