SASANIAN KINGDOM. Shapur I the Great (AD 240-272). AV dinar (21mm, 7.36 gm, 3h). ANACS AU 55. Mint I ("Ctesiphon"), Phase II, ca. AD 260-272. Bust of Shapur I right, wearing mural tiara with korymbos and long ear flap, long beard with two rings, single pellet on korymbos / Large flaming fire altar flanked by two attendants standing facing, head turned outward wearing mural crown, scepter in outer hand; single pellet above both attendants, altar shaft decorated with crescent flanked by column of three pellets.
