Elizabeth I (1558-1603) Crown ND (1601-1602) AU Details (Reverse Scratched) NGC, Tower mint, "1" mm, KM7, S-2582, N-2012. 29.86gm. Of genuinely rare quality for this popular crown of Elizabeth, which, even for the noted scratches on the reverse, appears at a level generally above the standard survival of the issue, with not a single piece certified above AU at either NGC or PCGS. Minorly doubled in the legends, the queen's portrait appears full and expressive, with the whole of the coin overlaid in an antique gunmetal patina.
