Kwangtung. Kuang-hsü Specimen Dollar ND (1890-1908) SP60 NGC, Kwangtung mint, KM-Y203, L&M-133, Kann-26a, WS-0941, Wenchao-563. A truly singular representative of this iconic and very rare presentation specimen, featuring a "new" standard design type, issued in response to public outcry over the juxtaposition of Chinese and English text by moving the English legends around the reverse dragon. Toned in the recessed portions to a deep indigo that pairs with the coin's specimen finish to render an almost black enamel-like finish to the reverse (obverse as holdered), giving the more silver hued dragon a distinctive appearance and immense visual allure. The characters side is even more watery, with an iridescent flare that is simply unmistakable, elevating the coin far above its technical grade. Ex. W&B Capital Collection
