A splendid type, rare and desirable in any grade, this note is especially so in pack fresh Uncirculated condition. The 500 and 1000 Ringgit denominations were demonetized after the Malaysian financial crisis of 1997/98. The vast majority of these notes were redeemed then. The 19th century Sultan Abdul Samad Building, the Colonial Government Office, is depicted on the back of this handsome note.
