Description
Celts - Gaul - Belgium - AE13 (Treviri, 1st century BC, 1.50 g) - Female diademed head right, hair tied in a bun, in dotted circle / bull to right, wild boar below, ARDA above, all in dotted circle (Scheers, Traité, 252 / DT 611A / Latour 8852) - F/VF, a rare coin. The bust on the obv. looks like an imitation of the busts on Roman Republican Denarii, while the bull on the rev. looks like an imitation of the bronzes of the Veliocasses, with legend SVTICOS (cf. Scheers, Traité, 611).
